What it Takes

THE MORE WE CONSIDER THE VASTNESS OF THE UNIVERSE and open our minds to the meaning of existence and the future of life on Earth, the smaller and humbler we become. The more we become swept up in exponential acceleration, the more we come to terms with the profound shifts happening and the more we live with urgency and purpose. The more we accept the current trials and eminent challenges and face the shocking truths, the more we teethe on the dream of a new and enlightened dispensation, an ordering of worldly affairs that may steer the outcome in the direction of emancipation.

This ordering out of chaos is where we find our way on a critical path of healing. With every step we learn how to live deliberately, how to exist sustainably, and how to create a fair and equitable reality. Beyond fear, ignorance and complacency, beyond egocentric misperceptions, vapid hipsterism, blind consumerism and blatant ignorance, beyond alienation and anomie, it is the road to a summit where we can see how personal, social, political, ecological and economical dimensions all are interconnected. It is the point that bridges the cultural divide to a new communitarian energy. One that emphasizes everything that unites us, not separates us. One that affords everyone an opportunity to share fully in what it means to be human.
